How we operate

A day in the life of a pallet.

The promise is only as good as the SOP behind it. Follow one frozen pallet through an Indicold cold store — from the dawn gate-in to the evening dispatch. Six checkpoints, one temperature, fully accounted for.

Gate to dock, before sunrise

"Before I'm even off the truck, they already know exactly who I am."

A reefer rolls up at dawn. Security verifies the vehicle, driver and seal; the e-way bill and invoice are matched to the purchase order; the trailer set-point is logged before a single door opens. Every event is captured live in the Moolcode WMS — I'm given a dock and a GRN, and my Indicold life begins.

Quality & temperature check

Nothing moves until the temperature checks out

"A probe goes into my core. Minus eighteen point four. I pass."

At the QC bay a technician takes my core temperature at three points, inspects packaging integrity, and reconciles count and weight against the invoice. Only then is my SSCC barcode printed and I'm released for put-away. Fail a check and I'd be held in the quarantine bay instead.

Thirty metres up, into the deep cold

"The crane lifts me into the dark. I won't see daylight for hours."

I'm inducted onto the infeed conveyor. The WMS picks my slot by product velocity and FEFO, then a stacker crane files me into the −18 °C automated chamber — one of 7,000+ pallets racked in a single hall. My location is confirmed by scan, never by memory.

Cycle count · inventory audit

Counted without a door ever opening

"Mid-afternoon, the system counts me — nobody breaks the cold chain to do it."

Every day Indicold runs a blind cycle count. The WMS reconciles physical stock against the system through crane retrieval scans, re-validates my FEFO position, and logs the result. No manual entry inside the chamber, no warm air, no guesswork.

Order pick · fulfilment

My number comes up first

"An order lands. Oldest stock leaves first — that's me."

A sales order arrives and the WMS selects me on FEFO — first to expire, first out. The crane retrieves me to the outfeed, I'm marshalled at dispatch lane M-02, and the pick is confirmed against the order line. Right pallet, right order, every time.

Dispatch · reefer load-out

I leave exactly as I arrived

"The reefer's already cold. −18°, gate to gate."

The outbound reefer is pre-cooled and inspected before I'm loaded. A temperature logger is armed, the dock seal applied, and the e-way bill and delivery challan generated. I roll out with live temperature, location and humidity visibility — accountable every kilometre to the customer's door.

The pallet's day, in numbers

One pallet. Twelve hours. Zero excursions.

From a dawn gate-in to an evening dispatch, every move was scanned, every temperature logged, every handover accounted for. That's not luck — it's the SOP, running the same way on all 7,000+ pallets in the chamber.
